Naomi Watts

Naomi Watts carries a single nomination in each of two countries and neither turned into an award: the Spanish academy's best actress in 2013 on The Impossible, and Independent Spirit's supporting actress in 2011 on Mother and Child. Both of the British writers describe her part as a position inside a structure rather than as a performance. Kim Newman takes the Empire State ending of the King Kong of 2005 for a parody of Titanic and seats her Ann in Kate Winslet's place. Paul Julian Smith counts her Cristina in 21 Grams one of three intersecting lives.
