Rathna Kumar's 2026 Tamil film follows Sathya, twenty-nine and unsure where he stands in his own life, as he sets out on an unexpected journey. Through chance encounters, friendships that seemed unlikely and comic mishaps, he slowly begins to see the larger picture of his life. The story proceeds through a mood rather than a plot. The sharp sense of dialogue in Rathna Kumar's earlier work is present here too; the comedy comes from how the characters answer each other rather than from situations. The risk is that stories centred on a man's crisis as he approaches thirty have been told a great many times. Vidhu's performance partly overcomes that familiarity. Who it's for: viewers who like Tamil independent cinema and light character-driven drama. Who it's not for: anyone wanting a defined plot, or tired of stories about turning thirty.
