What Courier Is About

Moscow under Gorbachev. Ivan did not get into university, two years of military service are waiting for him, and he works as a courier for a publishing house; he lives with his mother and takes nothing seriously, answering every question with a joke. On a delivery he meets the condescending Professor Kuznetsov and his rebellious daughter Katya. To needle the professor he claims he is involved with Katya, and when Katya backs the lie up the situation gets away from them. Shakhnazarov plays the gap between fathers and sons as comedy. It was hugely popular in the Soviet Union.
