After her mother dies, Alex learns she has to complete the bucket list she wrote as a child before she can receive her inheritance. The list was left as a condition of the will. Adam Brooks adapted and directed from Lori Nelson Spielman's novel of the same name. Sofia Carson plays Alex, Kyle Allen plays Brad and Connie Britton plays her mother Elizabeth. Florian Ballhaus shot it and Peter Teschner edited. Filming took place in Nyack, New York in March 2024, produced by 3dot Productions with Netflix. Netflix released it on 28 March 2025. It sat second in the United States in its first week and reached number one in movies by 8 April 2025. The reviews were cool. Rotten Tomatoes sits at 46 percent with a blunt consensus: it checks all the romantic comedy boxes with efficiency but could have benefitted from squiggling outside the lines. Metacritic gave it 49 from six reviews. Who it is for: viewers who want something comfortable, predictable and emotionally smooth. Who it is not for: anyone expecting originality. Even the critical consensus says it never leaves the template.
