A Friend of the Deceased

Tolla is a translator but he is out of work. His wife is about to leave him. The man cannot pull himself together. An acquaintance suggests a way out. He could hire a killer for the man his wife is seeing. Tolla does something else. He arranges the hit for himself. Around then he meets a woman. She works in the sex trade. Something grows between them. Tolla changes his mind. But the job is already under way. To stay alive he has to act. Afterwards he is left with his conscience. Aleksandr Lazarev and Anzhelika Nevolina take the leads, with Elena Korikova also in the cast, in the French, Kazakh and Ukrainian coproduction that Viacheslav Kryshtofovych and Leonid Boyko made in 1997.
