About Face: Supermodels Then and Now

The documentary is about women who worked as models. Between them they cover a period spread over fifty years. Each of them speaks to the camera in the studio. The stories behind the magazine covers are told. They describe how they came into the business. And what it means to keep working in it for a long time. Growing older is spoken about openly. How ideas of beauty have changed is discussed. Among them are women who opened the field for others. Archive footage is cut in. The designer Calvin Klein and the agency head Eileen Ford speak too. Christie Brinkley and Isabella Rossellini appear in the seventy five minute documentary, with Beverly Johnson and Carmen Dell’Orefice also taking part, an American production Timothy Greenfield-Sanders finished in 2012.
