What Accomplice Is About
A tribute to the bicycle: the best mountain bikers in the world riding rough terrain in extraordinary places. Jeremy Grant's fifty two minutes are not a race documentary; the film starts from what a first bicycle does to a person and works forward into adventure, friendship and freedom. The camerawork is the centre of it, the descent shots, the wide landscapes and the way the riders behave around each other. Watchable even for someone who knows nothing about the technical side, because what it is really saying is that a bicycle is more than transport.
