What Address Unknown Is About

A Korean town beside an American base in the seventies. Chang-guk is the son of a Korean woman and a Black American soldier; his mother has written to the man for years and the letters keep coming back with the same stamp. Eun-ok, a young woman who lost an eye, enters a relationship with a soldier in exchange for treatment. A man called Dog Eye sells dog meat. Kim Ki-duk traces the damage left by colonisation, war and occupation through these three lives. It contains hard scenes including violence against animals. The allegations made against the director by actresses who worked with him are now part of how his films are read.
