What Aditya 369 Is About
A chain of events around a stolen diamond puts Krishna and Hema inside a time machine, which takes them first to the sixteenth century and the court of Krishnadevaraya, then to a distant future. Singeetam Srinivasa Rao wrote and directed it in 1991, and it is generally counted as the first Indian film to combine time travel with history and science fiction. The Back to the Future films were circulating at the same moment and the picture was accused of copying them; the director said his source was the H. G. Wells novel he had read as a student. Balakrishna plays a double role. It was a large commercial success and remains one of the most frequently cited Telugu films.
