Altiplano

The film brings together the stories of two women. Grace works as a photographer. She is shaken after something that happened in Iraq. Her husband Max is a doctor working in Peru. Where he works is high up in the Andes. Mercury is leaking from a nearby mine. The villagers are falling ill because of it. The anger turns on the foreign doctors. Max loses his life in the course of those events. Grace decides to go to the place where he died. In the same village lives Saturnina. Her fiancé also died because of the mercury. That is how the paths of the two women cross. Jasmin Tabatabai and Magaly Solier take the leads in Peter Brosens and Jessica Hope Woodworth’s Belgian, German and Dutch coproduction of 2009.
