An Indian thriller about what happens to a pianist. Akash plays piano and pretends to be blind. His reason is practical: as a blind musician he gets more work, and because people are relaxed around him he collects material for his compositions. One day a former film actor invites him home to surprise his wife. Akash goes, and finds something there he was not expecting. Because he has said he is blind he cannot react, and has to keep playing in that room as though he has seen nothing. What follows is a search for a way out. Akash can neither go to the police nor stay quiet, and every move makes the situation more complicated. The idea is that keeping up the pretence becomes more dangerous than telling the truth. The register moves constantly between thriller and black comedy. Ayushmann Khurrana plays Akash and Tabu the woman; her performance is what the film is most praised for. Sriram Raghavan directed. It succeeded in India and then reached an unexpected box office figure in China. Among the best of its kind for anyone who likes clever thrillers and games of plot. For a viewer who wants a clear ending, the film deliberately leaves it open.
