As Green As It Gets

Florian Gallenberger's 2018 German film follows Georg Kempter, who runs a plant nursery in a small Bavarian town. Everyone calls him Schorsch. He is a man who does not talk much; there is little left of his marriage and he keeps his distance from his daughter. The only place he feels genuinely free is the cockpit of his own ageing aeroplane. When the owner of the local golf course decides the shade of green of the grass Schorsch planted is wrong and refuses to pay, bankruptcy arrives at the door. With the plane about to be impounded, Schorsch takes the controls and flies off. What follows opens onto places he has never seen and people he has never met. Elmar Wepper leads.
