Batla House

In 2008 a gunfight breaks out between police and armed men in the Batla House area of Delhi; two suspects and a police officer are killed. Afterwards, claims spread in the press and among the public that the encounter was staged and those killed were innocent. The officer who led the operation has to defend himself against the inquiry, against public pressure, and against the distance his own institution keeps. Meanwhile he must also find the suspects who escaped. Nikkhil Advani tells the event from the officer's perspective. At the centre of the narrative are his trauma and the process of proving himself in court. That perspective is the film's most contested aspect; the claims of innocence and the opposing arguments get limited room. John Abraham plays the officer and Mrunal Thakur his wife.
