Four Indian intelligence officers live in Karachi under false identities for nine years. The target is one man: India's most wanted, the head of a criminal organisation protected outside the country for years. The officers run a barber shop, marry, have children, and sink into ordinary life. Then the order comes and nine years of cover is lifted in a night. The operation does not go as planned and the four are stranded in the city. Nikkhil Advani's film is built as a spy thriller, but its real interest is not the operation. At the centre of the narrative is this: whether the life left behind by someone who lived for years as another person was real or false. Each of the four answers it differently. Irrfan Khan plays Wali, the leader of the team, and carries the film's emotional weight. Arjun Rampal, Huma Qureshi and Rishi Kapoor are also in the cast. Who it's for: Viewers who like Indian spy thrillers, narratives drawn from real events, and character-driven action. Who it's not for: It runs long and the song sequences cut the tension.
