Irrfan Khan

The film among Irrfan Khan's thirty-one entries here that draws the heaviest vote is not the one that brought an award: Jurassic World leads on 21,787, while The Lunchbox, directed by Ritesh Batra, stops at 810. At the 8th Asian Film Awards, though, the best actor card carries his name with The Lunchbox, and in that whole archive it is the only card of his. Ang Lee's Life of Pi, Mira Nair's The Namesake and Michael Winterbottom's A Mighty Heart are here too, and among his Indian films are Haider, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, along with Piku and Hindi Medium. His part in The Namesake went among the supporting male nominees at Independent Spirit's 2008 ceremony. The supporting actor Filmfare came to him in 2008 for Life in a Metro and the leading one in 2018 for Hindi Medium, and between them, in 2013, Paan Singh Tomar made him the critics' choice of actor.
