What Beauty in Trouble Is About
Marcela cannot stand her husband Jarda any longer, threatens divorce and takes the children to her mother’s house, where the stepfather turns out to be a problem of his own. Meanwhile Jarda is caught in the act with a car theft ring and goes to prison. Benes, the urbane and comfortable man whose car they stole, grows close to Marcela, and she has to choose: her body pulls one way and her judgement the other. Jan Hrebejk judges nobody and keeps choice and necessity tangled together throughout. Anna Geislerova takes the lead.
