What Behold Homolka Is About
The Homolka family goes for a picnic in a wood just outside Prague. The grandfather and grandmother settle in the grass, the son Ludva gets into the river with his twin boys, his wife Hedus dances among the trees, the beer cools in the water. There is also a young couple in that wood who wanted to be alone, and their peace ends with the arrival of all this. Jaroslav Papoušek's film is counted among the last of the Czechoslovak New Wave. The twins are played by Miloš Forman's sons, Matěj and Petr. The family later grew into a series of three, with sequels in 1970 and 1972.
