What Between the Folds Is About
The documentary goes after modern origami and gathers people who have given their lives to it: fine artists, scientists from MIT and NASA, and eccentric inventors who take paper somewhere nobody expected. Across Vanessa Gould's fifty six minutes, folding paper is not a hobby but both an artistic language and an engineering problem. The most surprising thing in it is how differently the same act behaves in an artist's hands and a scientist's. It thinks about form, expression and meaning, and is easy to watch without being light.
