What Black Jack: The Movie Is About
Black Jack is a surgeon who works without a licence. He performs operations nobody else can and charges enormous sums for them. This time something else comes his way: all over the world athletes, scientists and artists suddenly perform beyond any human measure, then collapse and die. Black Jack is called in to work out the medical secret behind it. The trail leads to a research programme and to the person running it. Osamu Dezaki directs, adapting Osamu Tezuka's manga. Black Jack is one of Tezuka's best known characters. The film is dark and heavy and, for all that it is animated, is not for children.
