Tomorrow's Joe 2: The Movie

Six months have passed since the bout that ended with Rikiishi’s death. Joe believes he is over it and comes back to the ring, making a strong return with five knockouts scored on body blows. Given a shot at the national title, he finds the champion Tiger Ozaki using his habits against him, and Joe’s corner has to throw in the towel, because after what happened to Rikiishi he is afraid to punch at the head. Youko, who owns the gym where Rikiishi trained, brings in Carlos Rivera, a world-ranked boxer from Venezuela, to get him back on his feet. Osamu Dezaki directed this compilation made for cinemas out of the television series of the same name, which came from the manga written by Asao Takamori and drawn by Tetsuya Chiba. It runs a hundred and twelve minutes and dates from 1981.
