Attack on Titan: Crimson Bow and Arrow

A film compiled from the opening episodes of the Attack on Titan series. The structure: the first thirteen episodes re-edited into a single film, with newly animated scenes and new recordings added. The story starts at the beginning. Humanity lives behind enormous walls; outside are giants that eat people, and the wall has not been breached in a hundred years. Then the wall comes down. Eren loses his mother and enlists. The training sections, the use of the three-dimensional manoeuvring gear and the first major attack come in order. The point of the compilation is to give the story in one sitting to someone who has not watched the series. So some side lines are shortened and the pace is quickened. Visually the look of the series is kept; the design of the giants and the movement sequences are the strongest element. Tetsuro Araki directed. It was shown in cinemas in Japan and presented as preparation for the series' second season. A practical starting point for anyone who likes anime and wants to enter the series from the beginning. For someone who has watched the series, it offers familiar material apart from the new scenes.
