What Blonde in a White Car Is About
Pierre is a hitchhiker out of work. On the road a beautiful woman picks him up. Something brief starts between them. But she drops him and, as she goes, tries to run him over. Pierre memorises the number plate and goes after her. When he finds the address and reaches the house, two young women meet him. Either one of them could be the person he is looking for, and he does not know which. The film carries that uncertainty all the way through, and it is built on a novel. Which of the two women is telling the truth stays open for a long time. Robert Hossein, Marina Vlady and Odile Versois appear in Hossein’s French and Italian coproduction of 1959.
