The Wicked Go to Hell

Two convicts share a cell in a prison. There is a suspicion between them. One of them is taken for a police informer. Which one, nobody knows. The two plan an escape together. The escape comes off. They shelter afterwards in an isolated cabin in the Camargue. There is a woman there, called Eva. The suspicion goes into that cabin with them. The question of who is who stays unanswered. The story comes from a play by Frédéric Dard, which Robert Hossein had staged in Paris in 1954. This film was his first work as a director. He wrote the adaptation with René Wheeler. Shooting was done at the studios in Marseille and in the Camargue. Marina Vlady, Henri Vidal and Serge Reggiani appear in the ninety three minute film, a French production Robert Hossein finished in 1955.
