Blur: No Distance Left to Run

Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace's 2010 documentary follows the British band's reunion in 2009. They had been apart for years; the documentary records the rehearsals, the first shows and how the tension between them re-formed across the tour. What is interesting is that the four speak separately. They say different things about the same events and the film does not reconcile them; nor is the break inside the band traced to a single cause. The successful period of the nineties is given in archive footage but nostalgia is not the centre. The real subject is what it means to return to the same room in your forties.
