Breach

Andrés has just come out of prison. There is a break between him and his twelve year old son José Ramón. The reason for that break is something heavy that happened in the family. Nobody is bold enough to go near it. Father and son cannot reach each other even while living in the same house. The film tells how a thing left unspoken grows inside a household. Silence itself becoming a punishment is the real subject. The account does not open the event through flashback; it leaves the gap as a gap. Francisco Alfonsin and José Ramón Lafita appear in Iván Noel’s ninety three minute Spanish film, completed in 2009.
