Brothers Till We Die

Rome. Vincenzo, known as the Hunchback, robs an armoured van with his gang. The job done, his own men try to kill him and make off with the money. Vincenzo survives by hiding in the sewers and then comes after them one by one, in ways that get progressively more brutal. His path crosses that of Monezza, a petty crook who looks exactly like him, and the police pull Monezza in, having confused the two. Umberto Lenzi directs, with Tomas Milian playing both the Hunchback and Monezza. Ninety-five minutes. This is from the hard end of the 1970s Italian crime film: fast, coarse and bloody. Lenzi made many of these, and this is among the ones still talked about.
