Cockles and Muscles

Marc has inherited a house on the Côte d'Azur from his aunt. The family decides to spend the summer there: Marc, his wife Béatrix, their son Charly and their daughter. Charly brings his friend Martin along. His mother assumes her son is gay and has no problem with it; she is enthusiastic. Charly is not. Meanwhile Béatrix has had a lover for years, and he turns up in the town. Marc has an old story of his own. Within a week the house has everyone's secret out. Olivier Ducastel and Jacques Martineau direct the French comedy; ninety-three minutes, with Valeria Bruni Tedeschi as Béatrix and Gilbert Melki as Marc. The pair always write and direct together. The film keeps sliding into a musical; the characters suddenly start singing.
