Dacoit

Shaneil Deo's 2026 Telugu film follows a man convicted of a crime he did not commit through his partner's betrayal, who sets out to find her once he is free. The story interweaves the line of revenge with a series of robberies, and both sides tell their own version. Adivi Sesh, seen mostly in heroic roles in recent years, turns here to a morally ambiguous figure, while Mrunal Thakur's part is written outside the classic victim template. Anurag Kashyap's presence as an actor gives the film a further hardness. Its weakness is following the familiar steps of a revenge narrative and leaving the way violence is justified unquestioned. Who it's for: viewers who like Telugu action thrillers and revenge stories. Who it's not for: anyone avoiding violent content, or expecting revenge itself to be questioned.
