Days of Vinyl

Damián, Facundo, Luciano and Marcelo have been friends since childhood and share one passion: records. Classic rock, original pressings, and a friendship built on listening. All four are in their thirties and nothing in their lives is moving. Then one of them decides to marry. The decision shakes the other three and each has to look at where he is standing. Gabriel Nesci uses the familiar structure of the friendship-group comedy but treats music not as decoration but as the characters' language: each is defined by which record he loves, and the arguments come from there. The narrative does not make failing to leave adolescence endearing; it says plainly that all four are postponing something. Gastón Pauls and Fernán Mirás are in the cast. Who it's for: Viewers who like Argentine comedy, music-centred narrative, and films about a group of friends. Who it's not for: The women are at the edge of the narrative and functional. The structure is also familiar, with few surprises.
