What Dear Doctor Is About
Ino is the only doctor in a remote mountain village, trusted and thanked by everyone in it. Keisuke Soma, a reluctant intern sent up from the city, first admires the man's devotion and then starts noticing small hesitations, and how often the real work is handed to the nurse or to himself. Miwa Nishikawa opens from there onto an uncomfortable question, because Ino's secret is not an old scandal but the practice of medicine itself. She judges nobody quickly, asking instead why a community wants to believe in a person, and whether qualification is a certificate or an act of care. Our record misstates this as a past incident.
