Diary

Innasi Pandiyan's 2022 Tamil film follows a trainee sub-inspector who reopens a case left unsolved for sixteen years, a disappearance no one pursued. As the investigation goes on, two times fold into each other. The narrative gives the old event through reconstruction, and the link between people in the present line and that file emerges slowly. Arulnithi leads. The film is low-budget and runs on its editing, with little action. The close makes the connection in a single move. Who it's for: those who like Tamil thrillers and cold-case narratives. Who it's not for: viewers expecting a showy production; this was made on a small scale.
