Ek Duuje Ke Liye

Vasu and Sapna are neighbours in Goa. Vasu is Tamil and Sapna is from the north. Their languages are different from each other. They have trouble talking. Their families do not get on either. Quarrels break out between the two households all the time. Even so the two of them grow close. In the end they say that they are in love. That news raises an uproar in both houses. The families are against the marriage. The young pair are told to stay apart for a time. The condition is a year without meeting. In that time they are to have no contact at all. If they still want each other when the year is up they may marry. Kamal Haasan and Rati Agnihotri take the leads, with Madhavi also in the cast, in K. Balachander’s Indian film of 1981.
