Expedition Amazon

The documentary follows research being carried out across the Amazon basin. The teams work for National Geographic. The route starts at the river’s source. That source is in the Andes and is fed by ice. From there the river runs east. The trace of its water reaches as far as the Caribbean. The teams take measurements along that line. Mangrove forests are studied. The health of the pink river dolphins is examined. The migration routes of Andean bears are tracked. In each case two things sit side by side, the urgency and the solution being proposed. The film shows both the problem and the work being done. Alice Braga narrates. The forty seven minute film was released on 10 October 2024, an American production Anna Derryberry and Laura Anderson finished that year.
