Flowers for Antonio

Isaki Lacuesta's 2025 Spanish documentary follows the actor Alba Flores searching for the father she lost at eight. Antonio Flores was a well-known musician; his daughter does not remember him and tries to build a portrait by asking his family and friends. The question at the centre is whether it is possible to know someone only through what others tell you. The Flores family is a musical dynasty in Spain; her aunts Lolita and Rosario and her grandmother Lola Flores are part of the account. Alba beginning to use her own singing voice again opens a second line. The archive material is rich and the emotional steering heavy. Who it's for: viewers interested in Spanish music and documentaries built as family portraits. Who it's not for: anyone wanting an account at a distance, or avoiding subjects of addiction and early death.
