Ray Yeung's film is set in New York. Ryan, the son of a Chinese family, is a stylist working in fashion who tries to make everything about his background as invisible as he can. The person he is assigned to prepare for a shoot is Ning, a film star newly arrived from China, who is hiding the fact that he is gay. What each of them conceals is the inverse of the other, and the film sets that symmetry up from the start. As they grow closer both have to reconsider what they are hiding and why. The narrative resolves neither the immigrant identity nor the closet into anything simple, and it accepts that a career is a real cost. Jake Choi and James Chen lead. The ending is left unspoiled.
