Glitch: The Rise & Fall of HQ Trivia

Salima Koroma's 2023 documentary tells the story of a live quiz show broadcast through a phone app. It reached millions of users quickly; the broadcasts went out at the same hour every day and cash prizes were paid out. The subject is the speed of the collapse. Investment does not arrive, disagreement grows between the founders and user numbers fall; the narrative shows this not as a single error but as a succession of decisions. The host and the staff speak; one of the founders died during that period and the documentary reports it. The narrative keeps the growth pressure on technology start-ups in the background. Who it's for: those who follow documentary on the technology industry. Who it's not for: viewers who never used the app; the documentary assumes you know the atmosphere of the moment.
