Golden Earrings

A British colonel escapes from the hands of the Gestapo. Where he gets to is the Black Forest in Germany. There he comes across a Roma woman. To avoid being caught he begins passing as her husband. He changes his clothes and lives inside the community. The title of the film looks at that disguise. A war story turns into an adventure that way. In time something forms between the two of them. The film was shot in black and white and moves in the shape of an adventure. Murvyn Vye and Bruce Lester are also in the cast. Ray Milland and Marlene Dietrich take the leads in Mitchell Leisen’s American film of 1947.
