What Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles Is About
Not a documentary but a concert film: for sixty-five minutes Billie Eilish performs every song from Happier Than Ever, in album order, on the Hollywood Bowl stage. There is no life story between the songs and no interviews. On stage with her are her brother FINNEAS, the Los Angeles Philharmonic with Gustavo Dudamel, and the guitarist Romero Lubambo, and the arrangements differ from the studio recordings. Animated images of Los Angeles run between the songs, and that is the love letter of the title. Anyone wanting to know Eilish will not find a life here.
