What Hi Diddle Diddle Is About
The bride’s mother is taken to have been swindled out of her money by a rejected suitor. The groom’s father sets up a plan of his own to put things right, though his methods are at least as strange as the swindle. A cabaret singer helps him, and in the meantime he has to manage a jealous wife. The film works with the moulds of the fast talking American comedies of the forties; misunderstandings pile on one another and nobody tells anyone the truth. The account is kept short and never lets the pace drop. Adolphe Menjou and Martha Scott appear in Andrew L. Stone’s seventy two minute American film, completed in 1943.
