Cry Terror!

An ordinary family in New York is pulled into a terrible night by someone they used to know. The man is planning to extort a ransom with a bomb, and he needs this family for the plan to work. Husband, wife and their small daughter are held. Collecting the money is dropped on the wife. Andrew L. Stone's thriller was shot away from the studio, on real New York streets; the subway, a car park and crowded avenues carry the tension of the film. James Mason and Inger Stevens play the family, Rod Steiger the man behind the plan. Angie Dickinson has a small part early in her career. The telling moves forward without showing violence, by keeping the threat close at all times.
