What Home for the Weekend Is About
Marko, who has lived in Berlin for years, goes to spend a weekend at his parents' house in the country at his mother's request. He hopes for something quiet and does not get it. His mother Gitte announces that she has stopped the medication she has taken for years; his father and brother react with scepticism, her desperation grows, and the apparent balance of the household comes apart. Hans-Christian Schmid's 2012 film competed for the Golden Bear in Berlin, with Lars Eidinger and Corinna Harfouch. Our English record describes the mother as recovered, which is not what the film says.
