Hopeaa rajan takaa

It is the summer of 1941. Karelia has been left on the other side of the border. Wist and Anttala are two young men from there. Wist’s house stands beyond the line. Family silver is hidden under it. The two decide to go and get it. Setting out means crossing the border. The region is in another state’s hands now. The journey is dangerous from beginning to end. The story comes from a novel by Esa Anttala. The novel started from a real incident. New faces played the leading parts. The reason was a strike among the actors. It is one of the war films Mikko Niskanen made in that period. Jaakko Pakkasvirta, Veikko Kerttula and Spede Pasanen appear in the seventy six minute film, a Finnish production Mikko Niskanen finished in 1963.
