I Feel Like Disco

The father, Hanno, and his son Florian do not understand each other and have nothing in common. Florian, in the middle of adolescence, is finding himself, notices his own sexuality and immediately hides it; he is often alone, loses someone he loves and falls for the wrong person. Axel Ranisch neither asks for pity nor looks down; he gives a heavy, awkward, affectionate boy the seriousness he is owed and finds the comedy in the gentleness. The director wrote the story largely out of his relationship with his own father, after his teacher Rosa von Praunheim told him to make a film about what he knew; von Praunheim also appears in it. Heiko Pinkowski plays the father, Christina Große the mother and Frithjof Gawenda plays Florian. It screened at the Munich Film Festival on 30 June 2013 and opened on 31 October 2013.
