I'm for the Hippopotamus

Two men working in Africa come up against a gang trafficking animals. They bicker constantly and it ends in fists. The film keeps to the pair's familiar pattern: the fights are staged as comedy, nobody is seriously hurt, and the narrative moves from scene to scene on loose connections. Italo Zingarelli directed, having produced the pair's earlier films. It was shot in South Africa. Before watching: the film uses Africa and its people in the shallow and at times demeaning manner typical of Italian comedies of the period. It also worked with a great many wild animals, under shooting conditions that did not meet current standards of animal welfare.
