It's Not the Time of My Life

Eszter, her husband Farkas and their five year old son Bruno are paid an unexpected visit in the middle of the night. The visitors are Eszter’s sister Ernella, her husband Albert and their daughter Laura. The three of them have come back after a year in Scotland, where they could not settle. The flat is suddenly crowded and the two families have to hold together in it. Before long it is clear that these two families were never in tune with each other. The film takes place almost entirely inside one flat. That closeness does not by itself bring understanding is the real subject. The account is built at the scale of a stage play, in a narrow space. Szabolcs Hajdu both directs and acts. The eighty one minute Hungarian film was completed in 2016.
