What J-Men Forever Is About
The film is built out of old cinema serials. The episodes used come from the Republic studio’s series. The makers wrote new sound for that footage. So the old heroes are made to speak new dialogue. Two names from the Firesign Theatre put the film together. They are Peter Bergman and Phil Proctor. The villain of the account is the Lightning Bug. His plan is to take over the world. He tries rock and roll first. The J-Men counter him with another kind of music. Marijuana comes next. In the end the J-Men build a bomb to blow up the moon. But the Lightning Bug gets there before them. He plays his music so loud that the moon breaks apart on its own. Richard Patterson directed the seventy three minute film. The American comedy was finished in 1979.
