What Kara Gözlüm Is About
Azize comes from a fishing family, and while she is selling fish her singing catches the ear of a nightclub owner, who offers her work; she takes it for the money. A composer named Kenan, who keeps his identity from her, falls in love with her and writes her songs; she becomes a known voice very quickly, but nothing goes the way she hoped and in the end she has to choose between the man and the life she wanted. Atıf Yılmaz directed, Bülent Oran wrote it and İrfan Ünal produced. It is the first film in which Türkan Şoray and Kadir İnanır appeared together. There is a contradiction in the record: the Turkish summary says Azize lives with her grandfather, while the English summary and the sources I consulted say she sells fish with her father.
