What Kaun Pravin Tambe? Is About
Pravin Tambe walked onto an IPL field for Rajasthan Royals at forty-one, without having played even first-class cricket; this is the story of a man starting a professional career at an age when most players have long since stopped. The film is about the years spent on the neighbourhood grounds of Mumbai, the unseen labour of club cricket, and the way age stands in front of a person like a wall. Jayprad Desai directed and Kiran Yadnyopavit wrote it. Shreyas Talpade plays Tambe, with Ashish Vidyarthi, Anjali Patil, Parambrata Chatterjee and Chhaya Kadam around him. It went out on Disney+ Hotstar on 1 April 2022 and became one of the most watched Hindi films of the year. What sits at the centre is not a triumph but the persistence of a player nobody bothered to ask about for a very long time.
