Kooky

Ondra has asthma, so his parents throw away his favourite toy: a musty old stuffed bear called Kooky. That night Ondra dreams about him; the bear picks himself up out of the dump and sets off home. His route takes him into a forest, where he meets creatures he never heard of from the toy shelf. It is a small imagined world, but there is real good in it and real evil, and Kooky has to face both to become a hero. Jan Svěrák directs, combining puppetry with real forest footage; it is all shot by hand among actual plants. Ninety-five minutes. The director's son plays Ondra, and his father Zdeněk Svěrák is in the cast.
