What Kummeli Kultakuume Is About
Elmeri is a patient in a psychiatric hospital. He carries one piece of knowledge from his late father: gold taken off a German unit in the last days of the war, buried somewhere in Lapland. His nurse believes him and helps him escape. The two of them head north. Along the way they keep running into people odder than they are. Whether the gold is really there is the least of it; the film is interested in the journey itself. Matti Grönberg directs the Finnish comedy; ninety-six minutes. Kummeli is a television sketch troupe, and this is one of their moves into cinema; it found a wide audience in Finland.
